Meghan Markle enjoys her new life in Canada and “feels like a new person,” according to a new American weekly report.
In an interview with celebrity magazine, a source said that Meghan’s move “gave her the chance to reset.”
“Meghan is delighted to have escaped the chaos of London,” said the source. “She feels like a new person,” adding that the Duchess has “a new spring in her step.”
The source also said that Meghan “felt trapped and claustrophobic” when she and her husband, Prince Harry, lived at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. “She was nervous about coming out of her own front door because of all the negative attention she drew,” the source said, adding that it caused the Duchess to panic.
Meghan and Harry made their last appearance as members of the royal family at the Commonwealth Service of Westminster Abbey in London on March 9.
The public family reunion was the first time the couple had been seen with the Queen and the royal family, since the couple negotiated a release agreement from their roles in January.
After the service, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned home to Canada where they remained isolated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meghan, Harry and their 10 month old son Archie have been living on Vancouver Island since the Christmas holidays.
