UFC President Dana White spoke about “Jim Rome’s Podcast” Wednesday and revealed he tested positive for COVID-19. White confirmed he was vaccinated and temporarily lost his sense of smell, which he regained within 48 hours.

White also said he consulted Joe Rogan, host of the popular “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast for advice on what to do about his diagnosis.

Rogan is known to spread controversial ideas about COVID-19 vaccines, such as how young people don’t need to be vaccinated against the virus.

This prompted the White House to respond, with communications director Kate Bedingfield tell CNN in April, “I guess my first question would be, Did Joe Rogan become a doctor when we weren’t looking?” I’m not sure that following Joe Rogan’s scientific and medical advice is perhaps the most productive way people get their information.

Rogan himself contracted COVID-19 in September and said he tried various treatments, including ivermectin, despite the dicton de la Food and Drug Administration (FDA) the drug should not be used to treat or prevent COVID-19.

Now White has tested positive for the virus and, according to ESPN, told “The Jim Rome Podcast” that he called Rogan immediately after he tested positive. He took a monoclonal treatment with antibodies, NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) drip, vitamin drip and ivermectin.

White said he felt like “a million bucks” despite the temporary loss of his sense of smell and continued to exercise several times a day.

The UFC president is hoping to test negative very soon so he can attend the UFC Fight Night event on Saturday in Las Vegas.

According to ESPN, White was one of the most aggressive stewards during the coronavirus pandemic. The UFC was able to maintain its events on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi during the 2020 pandemic by working with the government of the United Arab Emirates. It has also been successful in continuing to host events in Las Vegas at its Installation Apex.
