Nielsen said the film racked up nearly 1.2 billion minutes of streaming viewing. It was way ahead of any other series or movie, as a two-time champion You faded to second place with 994 million minutes of listening and other shows lost speed as well.
Two other original films have worked well for Netflix. Army of thieves, a prequel to Zack Snyder’s zombie action release Army of the dead, collected 456 million viewing minutes. Love hard, a dating comedy starring Nina Dobrev, grossed 455 million. In the same way Stronger, they helped Netflix take the top three spots in Nielsen’s film-centric chart.
Nielsen only measures viewing via TV, leaving out mobile, delivering numbers for Disney +, Hulu, Apple TV +, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video after a month of delay.
The more they fall has appeared on Netflix’s New Weekly Charts, but primarily as a US print. Directed by The Bullitts, the film has a star-studded, mostly black cast including Jonathan Majors, Idris Elba, Zazie Beetz, Regina King, Delroy Lindo, LaKeith Stanfield, RJ Cyler, Edi Gathegi, Danielle Deadwyler, and Deon Cole. It’s billed as a new take on the western, injecting kinetic action sets and a hip-hop soundtrack into the genre.
