Station Eleven, The Matrix Resurrections, The Book of Boba Fett, and more – .

i have finally finished The Beatles: Come Back, and although it did meander a lot, I found myself wanting more. The Wall Street Journal ‘s Jason Gay captures what it feels like to watch these footage from 50 years as a fan, as if we were all hanging out with John, Paul, George and Ringo as they worked on new tracks. Highly recommend watching, it will have you questioning some of the prevalent accounts of the Fab Four (like the widely held belief that they were constantly at each other’s throats as the group neared disbandment) .

Also! We had last minute news on Saturday on the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. it will be called Spider Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and will actually be in two parts, with the first part slated for release in October 2022 and the second part following in 2023. The rest of this week’s trailers include a new preview of a few movies and shows that we’ve seen previous trailers and teasers for, and a new (fictional) HBO Max series about people living in a post-world. pandemic.

Station our

Based on the novel by Emily St. John Mandel, Station our is a series about the aftermath of a pandemic whose production has been delayed by the real-world pandemic. Twenty years after most of the population was wiped out by the Georgian flu, a group of artists travel the post-apocalyptic landscape, staging performances and meeting all manner of survivors, including a mysterious person known as name of The Prophet. (A glimpse of a “museum of civilization” shows an exhibit of some 21st century relics, including “Internet,” a “Switch, Nintendo” and a “car keychain”). We see both the before and after times primarily through the eyes of Kristen, who was a child actress in the early days of the flu and is played by Mackenzie Davis as an adult. Himesh Patel, David Wilmot, Nabhaan Rizwan, Daniel Zovatto, Lori Petty and Matilda Lawler star in Station our, which begins its 10-episode airing on December 16 on HBO Max.

Matrix resurrections

I did a quick review / appreciation of this trailer the day it was released and have watched it several (well many) times since. We don’t have much more information on the movie’s plot here, except that one main element will be the ‘change’. We hear a voiceover mention that “maybe this isn’t the story we think it is”, and I hope the film rolls with that idea! Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Christina Ricci and Jada Pinkett Smith star in The Matrix: Resurrections, which hits theaters and on HBO Max on December 22.

Boba Fett’s book

“I am Boba Fett, left for dead on the sands of Tatooine” begins this new teaser. We see our protagonist immersed in what looks like a Bacta tank with a breathing apparatus attached to his face, possibly explaining what happened to him after ingesting Sarlacc in Return of the Jedi (but not how it actually came out). Some characters seem surprised to see Boba in this new (very brief) teaser entitled “Message”. Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen star in Boba Fett’s book, which arrives on Disney Plus on December 29.

We had a teaser in October, and now we have a full trailer for all eight episodes. Peacemaker series. John Cena reprise his role as James Gunn The suicide squad (Gunn also created the Peacemaker series and wrote and directed most of its episodes), but he’s teamed up here with a new group of eccentrics to try and keep the peace by murdering people who are supposedly threats to the United States. We see in the trailer that despite his bravado, Peacemaker seems to be wondering what he’s really doing and why. With Cena, Robert Patrick, Freddie Stroma, Danielle Brooks, Steve Agee, Jennifer Holland and Chukwudi Iwuji star in Peacemaker, which arrives on HBO Max on January 13.

Studio 666

The premise of this horror / comedy movie: The Foo Fighters are recording a new album in a haunted mansion and evil, bloody hijinks ensue. We don’t have a lot of plot clues, but we do see Dave Grohl have demon eyes and start to levitate, complete with glimpses of monsters, a seemingly evil book, and other supernatural horror movie staples. . It sounds silly and fun as hell. Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee, as well as Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman and Will Forte star in Studio 666, which hits theaters on February 25.
