Oregon Ducks lose three ESPN 300 engagements after Mario Cristobal exits as coach – .

Oregon lost three commitments Monday after it was announced that Mario Cristobal was no longer head coach of the Ducks. ESPN 300 offensive tackle Kelvin Banks, quarterback Tanner Bailey and linebacker TJ Dudley have all announced they are no longer engaged in Oregon.
Banks is the highest ranked of the three at 33rd. He’s a 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive lineman from Summer Creek High School in Houston, TX, and had been engaged in Oregon since June.

Bailey is # 139 rookie and # 6 pocket passer from Gordo, Ala. He’s not ready to say which schools have contacted him, but Bailey said a number of schools have expressed interest. The quarterback said he, along with the rest of the commitments, was taken aback by the move and had no idea Cristobal’s departure.

“I didn’t see Coach Cristobal’s case happen, I don’t think any of the rookies did either. I think the coaches were convinced he would stay, but I think at the end of the day we all know Coach Cristobal and his situation, ”said Bailey. “He’s a great husband, dad, coach, great mentor, so everyone has a lot of respect for him. I think this decision is the best for him to be an elder, his family is there, his wife’s family is there. So I think this is the best choice for him and we totally understand and respect him. “

Bailey has said he won’t rule out signing early on December 15, but given the timing of Cristobal’s move, it doesn’t seem likely that he will have enough time to pick a new team. Bailey is now the only uncommitted ESPN 300 quarterback in the class, so he’ll likely have plenty of options.

Dudley is ranked No. 232 overall and is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound linebacker with Montgomery Catholic High School in Montgomery, Alabama.

With the three releases, Oregon is now reduced to eight ESPN 300 engagements and 16 engagements in total.
