NFL suspends Antonio Brown, two others for violating COVID-19 protocols – .

Antonio Brown and two other NFL players were immediately suspended for three games by the league for violating COVID-19 protocols.
Tampa Bay wide receiver and teammate Mike Edwards were suspended Thursday. Free agent John Franklin III, if signed by a team, is also ineligible to play in the next three games.

All three players accepted discipline and waived their right of appeal. The suspensions take effect immediately.

The NFL Players Association, which developed the protocols with the league, represented the three players in a review of recent allegations that the players distorted their immunization status. Brown, Edwards, a cornerback, and Franklin, a defensive back who last played for the Bucs in 2019, have been found in violation of protocols.

“The health and safety of players and staff is our top priority,” the NFL and NFLPA said in a joint statement. “The protocols have been developed jointly with our respective experts to ensure that we practice and play football in the safest way possible during the current pandemic. The NFL-NFLPA jointly strengthens its commitment and further emphasizes the importance of strict adherence to protocols to protect the well-being of all those associated with the NFL. “

Brown and Edwards will begin serving their suspensions when the team faces the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. They will be eligible to return on Dec. 26 against the Carolina Panthers.
