A health worker administering the vaccine to the 50-year-old man at a vaccination site in the northern Piedmont region did not initially suspect the trick. But then she touched the arm, noticed something was wrong, and asked the man to take his shirt off, selon The Guardian.
“I felt offended as a professional,” Filippa Bua reportedly told La Repubblica. “The color of the arm made me suspicious so I asked the man to uncover the rest of his left arm. It was well done but it was not the same color.
“At first, I thought I had made a mistake, that it was a patient with an artificial arm,” she reportedly told La Stampa.
Italy recently announced imminent vaccination measures which will prohibit the entry of unvaccinated people into popular social settings such as nightclubs, restaurants, theaters and gymnasiums. The “green super pass,” which is due to go into effect on December 6, requires proof of vaccination or recovery from the virus.

Alberto Cirio, the president of Piedmont, and regional health adviser Luigi Icardi praised the vigilance of health workers in a joint statement, while berating the man’s action, according to The Guardian.
“The speed and skill of the health worker have ruined the plans of this person, who will now have to answer to justice,” they said.
“It is unacceptable in the face of the sacrifice that the pandemic makes the whole community pay,” they added.
Italy has registered more than 16,800 new cases of COVID-19 and 72 deaths in the last day. Just over 73 percent of the country is fully immunized.
