London Covid Cases Rise As Omicron Variant Rises – .

Cases of the Omicron coronavirus variant are on the rise and rules on face coverings and travel testing have been tightened in England.

The latest rates of all-variant Covid cases have been published for every local authority area in England and in just about most of them infections are down.

However, in south-east London, the case rate in every borough is increasing.

Nationally, 197 of 377 local areas in England (52%) have seen a drop in cases, and 177 (47%) have seen an increase.

Three are unchanged.

These figures are correct for the seven days through November 27 – the most recent days being excluded for accuracy.

They are compared to a previous week – the seven days until November 20.

The figures are based on the number of people who tested positive for Covid-19 in a lab-reported or rapid lateral flow test, by sample date.

As of December 1, there were 22 confirmed cases of Omicron across the UK, including in Lewisham and Bexley.

The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.

Here are the South East London coronavirus case rates:

The rate of coronavirus in Bexley fell from 351.8 (877 cases) to 403.1 (1,005 cases).

In Lewisham, cases have increased from 275.1 (840 cases) to 340.3 (1,039 cases).
