F-Bombs aside, the superstar cast of their “The Facts of Life” and “Diff’rent Strokes” remakes apparently enjoyed the instantaneous nature of their missions for the night.
Jennifer Aniston, playing Blair, had at least one hesitant line, interrupted slightly by a longing for a laugh and other cast members cracked knowing smiles throughout.
The cast of “The Facts of Life” included Gabrielle Union as Tootie, Allison Tolman as Natalie, Kathryn Hahn as Jo and Ann Dowd as Mrs. Garrett recreating the episode “Children Can. be cruel, ”from the third season of the classic series which ran from 1979 to 1988.
Jon Stewart, wearing a head covering, played Carl Price, a nerdy classmate who bid on Blair’s dinner box at a charity auction, hoping to spend some time alone with his crush Blair, at his great grief.
Because this is sitcomland, at the end, Blair and Carl shared a sweet moment, with Aniston saying the line of Easter eggs as she gives him pastry through her hat, “I’ll be there.” for you. ”
In the “Diff’rent Strokes” portion of the 90-minute special, Kevin Hart played Arnold, John Lithgow was Mr. Drummond, and Damon Wayans played Willis.
Snoop Dogg made an appearance as Willis’ friend, earning applause from the masked audience in person.
The cast recreated the Season 1 episode “Willis’ Privacy,” which was about Willis growing increasingly bored about having Arnold and not having personal space. “Diff’rent Strokes” originally aired from 1978 to 1986.
Yes, Hart fully committed and was wearing the “Super Arnold” outfit. Lithgow is also engaged, carrying Hart in a petulant childish style in one scene and leaving Hart to sit on his lap for a heart-to-heart conversation in another.
The previous two specials “Live to a Studio Audience” included remakes of “All in the Family”, “Good Times” and “The Jeffersons”.
This year’s special, produced by Sony Pictures Television, will be available Wednesday on demand and on Hulu.
