Michigan’s No.3 leads Iowa’s No.13 21-3 after three quarters of the Big Ten Championship game, and it’s hard to imagine the Hawkeyes will make a game of it. Michigan took a 14-0 lead early in the first quarter thanks to two big plays, but the Iowa defense quickly settled in and has kept the Wolverines in check for the most part since.

The problem is, there is nothing the Iowa offense can do to profit from it. The Hawkeyes have only managed 237 yards of attack and are averaging 4.2 yards per game. They have played 23 of their 57 offensive games in Michigan Territory, but have just three points to show. They missed a field goal and had a long practice in the third quarter in a turnaround on the downs inside the Michigan 10-yard line.

Michigan start the fourth quarter with the ball, and barring an epic meltdown like Nebraska’s against the Hawkeyes last week, they are on the verge of winning their first Big Ten title since 2004 and their first spot for college football qualifiers.
