Chelsea in training before facing Zenit

Chelsea will end their Champions League group campaign with a trip to Russia and an away game with Zenit on Wednesday night, still needing a result to confirm their group winner status. The Blues need to match Juventus’ home result against Malmö in St. Petersburg to ensure they stay ahead and ahead of the Italian squad one-on-one, giving the squad Thomas Tuchel seeded status in the round of 16.

At Stamford Bridge earlier in the season, a goal from Romelu Lukaku in the second half saw the Premier League side win 1-0; they had recently been on a terrific 10-game winning streak in 12 matches, but the loss to West Ham this weekend means it is also just one win out of the last three in all competitions. Tuchel will seek to find his way back to victory and says his team can do it without N’Golo Kante: “He’s the Superman, he’s the guy who makes the difference, the guy everyone wants to have in their team. midfielder, ”said the manager. “And we’ve been missing him for a long time. Can we produce high level results and performance without N’Golo? Yes we can, and we have already proven it.

Zenit are already guaranteed to finish third in Group H regardless of tonight’s result. Follow Zenit vs Chelsea updates below:
