Award-winning singer and songwriter Kelly Clarkson recently highlighted her fears of potentially being alone for the Christmas season in light of her divorce.
She spoke candidly about her overwhelming fears during an interview on NBC’s Christmas special.
There she became outspoken and admitted, “Holidays come with a whole range of emotions. “
“I’m going to be real to all of you – when I wrote this next song I was crying my head, which even happens on Christmas, everyone. I had just put my kids to bed and I was going through it all, I was having a really hard time, and it’s been a really tough year for a lot of us.
“And I wrote this song for myself, but also because there aren’t many holiday songs for people who feel lonely or lost or just plain sad apart from the classic ‘Hard Candy Christmas’ by Dolly Parton, whom we all love. It is about going through a difficult vacation. I love this song and it allowed me to write this. “
During her interview, she also referred to her single Christmas Isn’t Canceled (Just You) and added, “Honestly, I was a little nervous about sharing this one because it didn’t. isn’t your typical Christmas single. “
“But that was the first song I wrote for this album and I wrote it because a lot of things have been taken away from us over the past two years – people, relationships, jobs, etc.” There was so much taken. “
“But instead of looking at everything that’s wrong, we should be looking at everything that’s going right. And that’s what my therapist tells me anyway so that’s who I’m singing for! But no matter what people try to take from you, no one can undo Christmas, all of you.
