Kate Garraway Says Derek Draper is in “Terrible Condition” – .

KEaten Garraway sadly says her husband Derek Draper is in “terrible shape” in an upcoming episode of Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.

Speaking on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, Garraway – who will be Piers Morgan’s replacement on the show – takes the hot seat for a revealing interview before reprising the role.

Good Morning Britain host reveals extent of her husband’s illness and she says he is still unable to communicate after Covid-19 caused inflammation in the brain.
Garraway says ‘inflammation went through’ his brain, making him one of the most affected living Covid patients in the UK – reported The Mirror.
In the interview, which airs Sunday at 8 p.m. on ITV, she says: “It devastated him.
“From the top of his head to the tips of his toes. His digestive system, his liver, his kidneys, his heart, his nervous system. We’re pretty sure the inflammation has passed through the brain.
“He still can’t communicate, he still has mobility problems. Basically he’s in terrible shape. Look, he’s alive, Piers.

Piers then reveals that he had a conversation with Derek the day before the interview. He said: “We had a moment last night when I called you about this interview. Without warning you said, ‘Why don’t we talk to Derek?’ and Derek responded when you said it was me, very loud, clear, ‘Hello’.
“And I said a few things to him and at the end he said, ‘Thank you’. I was stunned.
Kate calls this a “remarkable moment” that left her equally shocked.
She replies, “Well, so do we. The caregivers who were with me at the time broke down in tears.
“I mean, I don’t mean to suggest that you are a Piers healer, but it was a remarkable moment. It’s moments like that that make you realize it’s in there.
“And we’ve had others – he’ll turn to me and say, ‘I love you.’ “
” He’s there! He fought so hard to stay in this world and I will never give up on him. It will have moments of clarity and it is as if it disappears again.
The presenter previously made an ITV documentary Finding Derek about her husband’s illness and the impact on their family.
It featured Garraway speaking to longtime Covid sufferers, NHS staff and other experts and a scene reminded him of Draper’s doctors telling him he was the most seriously ill person they have ever seen and survived.
Sunday will be Piers Morgan’s last interview on Life Stories.
