Indonesian volcano erupts sending ash 40,000 feet into the sky as residents flee – World News – .

Terrified residents have been seen fleeing a huge cloud of smoke and ash during the Mount Semeru eruption in Indonesia.

The Volcanic Ash Advisory Center issued a warning after a plume of volcanic ash rose to about 40,000 feet, raining on residents below.

Dramatic footage has since emerged on Twitter showing residents running up the mountain as huge gray clouds burst from the summit.

Screams and screams of fear can be heard in the video, as people attempt to escape the smoke.

Whoever posted a photo online said, “Friends, please pray for me, I hope my family is doing well. A little while ago, it’s really brilliant ”.

Another said: “Stay safe everyone who lives near Mount Semeru. “

“Everyone reading this tweet, pray for the safety of everyone who lives near the mountain,” said another.

Mount Semeru also erupted in January this year and before that it had erupted in December 2020, according to the Daily Star.

The eruption left a thick cloud of gray smoke
