France international Morgan Parra has announced he will leave the club at the end of the current 2021/22 season.
Parra, who was selected 71 times for France between 2008 and 2019 started his career with Bourgoin and has been part of Clermont since 2009 when they lifted Brennus in 2010 and 2017.
The 33-year-old revealed that the club were offering a contract extension but declined the offer as they wanted to explore new opportunities.
“My choice is to see and try something else,” he told L’Equipe.
“I only knew Clermont – and Bourgoin of course, but (there) I was very young (from 17 to 20 years old).
“I asked myself… Wouldn’t it be nice to see something else?” I want to discover a different style and mentality.
“And where I’m going, I want to contribute something, have a role and achieve something. I am at the end of my career but I want to contribute and give myself 100%. In the club where I will join, I will not go quietly in early retirement!
“The club made a good offer, I can’t criticize them. But it is not a question of money. I’m not leaving because I’m unhappy. And no one is irreplaceable, we are all just passing through, ”he added.
According to some information, the Stade Français, Toulouse and Toulon have expressed their interest in securing the services of Parra.
