Fortnite Island finale gives preview of new Chapter 3 map • Eurogamer.net – .

Fortnite hosted its last live event – usually spectacular in scope, technically ambitious in scope, and hugely important to the game’s ongoing story. Tonight’s The End event closed the book on its map of the Chapter 2 Forever – and gave players a taste of the sequel.
The end event started at the small fort built last week by Pleasant Park, and when players arrived they were greeted by the welcome sight of the friendly Blue Cube teleporting to the location as well. This is where players would make their last fight against the Queen Cube, leader of the alien race that has plagued the reality of Fortnite for several seasons. Maybe with the Blue Cube by her side, she could be defeated?

She couldn’t be defeated. The queen’s forces arrived and totally overpowered the players, in a tense part of the game where it became clear that the players were completely overwhelmed. Dozens of new motherships flew overhead through a huge hole in the sky and destroyed players’ weapons. The Blue Cube’s protection was reduced, even as it tried to help – before the poor thing was blasted to pieces.

The event then shifted to a cutscene as, well below the surface of the island, the Imagined Order organization took panic stations. His boss Slone, now much hated by players after letting them die in last season’s event, has been shown doing business with Agent Jones’ defector – until the figure The seemingly heroic Foundation finally arrives to resume. his unfinished business with Jones first.

Dwayne Johnson is finally unmasked as a heroic of the Fortnite Foundation.

Jones and the Foundation teamed up, leaving Slone behind – but not before she finally got a glimpse of the Foundation’s face, finally revealing him to be played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. For the fans, it was something we had suspected for a long time. The pair worked to disable the island’s “gyro controls” as, back to the surface, other members of The Seven, the Foundation’s mystery group, stormed in to save the day.

Back in the game, players rushed through new subterranean areas of the island to its core – previously seen in Fortnite’s DC Comics and Imposters game mode – guided by Seven Member The Scientist, last seen. times at the end of Fortnite Chapter 1. Here we heard him spoke at length – and it sounded a lot like Joel McHale from Community. The areas here – and the island of Fortnite – were now tilting ominously.

Eventually, the players met Jones and the Foundation, but as things started to go sour, all were likely sucked into the water surrounding the island. The players then found themselves alone, at some distance, watching the Fortnite island make its best Titanic impression. But instead of shattering, the island flipped onto its underside – crushing the queen and her remaining forces – and exposing a new surface of the island for Chapter 3. We were only treated to at a glance – but more has now been revealed.

Fortnite is currently on hiatus, with players watching each other cling to a single piece of driftwood, floating in the ocean:

Since the event’s conclusion, Fortnite has kept its social accounts active and has started teasing the seemingly imminent arrival of Chapter 3 – although we don’t yet know when it will go live.

A social media campaign that flips fan profile pictures is currently revealing the Chapter 3 map at a decent rate, and stands at 12% as revealed at the time of writing. The northwest corner has turned out to be a snowy biome, while a desert is to the southeast, with a jungle to the northeast.

Meanwhile, in New York City, an ad was posted with the #FortniteFlipped branding and the letters “F” and “O” caught in a spider’s web. That’s, of course, a match for the new season’s big collaboration with Spider-Man.

When will Fortnite Chapter 3 launch? Xbox Support has an open ticket for the Fortnite outage and says maintenance will end on Sunday, December 5 at 3 p.m. UK time. Reliable leaks like Hypex and Shiina have suggested we’d see the game then, too – and that a longer forced downtime was removed as a result of earlier leaks.
