Expert says Rangnick already has huge ‘problem’ at Man Utd – .

Ralf Rangnick could face a huge ‘problem’ if he leaves Cristiano Ronaldo on the Man Utd bench, according to former Premier League striker Gabby Agbonlahor.
The Red Devils announced earlier this week that the German would become their new acting boss until the end of the season, provided he gets a work permit.

Michael Carrick has been in charge of their last two games against Villarreal and Chelsea following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and will again be in the dugout for their clash against Arsenal tonight.

Man United v Arsenal: The great rivalry is on the agenda again

Ronaldo’s summer signing has been dropped off the bench a few times this season, with Carrick leaving him out of the starting XI at Chelsea.

Leading to rumors that Carrick was already implementing Rangnick’s new tactics and roster before he arrived – but the former midfielder has denied these claims.

Ronaldo has been accused of not pushing since returning to Old Trafford and there is speculation Rangnick will leave him out due to his style of play.

And former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor believes Ronaldo “would rather retire than be a bench warmer” under Rangnick.

Agbonlahor a dit Football initiate: “If Rangnick has to give up Ronaldo, how will that affect the rest of the squad?

“Ronaldo will be a big voice in this locker room and he won’t want to be on the bench. Rangnick will have a problem if he chooses to leave the talisman on the bench.

“Ronaldo won’t accept that, not at all. He won’t mind being rested over Christmas when there are two games, three games a week. It’s different, we all know you need to rest.

“In order not to play regularly, Ronaldo is not that guy. I’m sure Ronaldo would rather retire than be a bench warmer. He’s not that guy, he wants to play every game. It will be interesting to see what happens. He could end up retiring.

Meanwhile, Man Utd interim manager Carrick has said he has yet to speak to new interim boss Rangnick. He said on Wednesday: “I have nothing to update.

“The work permit and visa process is underway as we speak. I’m in this position, as I was for Villarreal and Chelsea. I’m getting the boys ready for tomorrow night’s game.

“It’s pretty much like the two games. Due to the process, we could not (speak). We continued as we did. It has worked well in the last two games and I hope it will tomorrow.
