Ethan Crumbley ‘Really Awaited’ Premeditated Oxford School Shooting, Sheriff Says – .

Authorities said the suspect in a Michigan school shooting, Ethan Crumbley, “was eager” to commit the “premeditated” massacre at his high school.
Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard told a press conference on Saturday afternoon that there is evidence the 15-year-old sophomore planned the attack in advance.

“We have clear evidence that it was premeditated and he was looking forward to it,” he said.

The sheriff did not go into details of the evidence. However, officials have already revealed the contents of disturbing cartoons, newspaper entries and social media posts posted by the suspect in the days leading up to the attack.

His parents were called to school twice this week before Tuesday’s attack – once after he was allegedly found searching for ammunition on his phone and the second time after being found with the drawing of ‘a gun, a bullet and a victim with the words “blood everywhere”.

The teenager is accused of killing four of his comrades – Tate Myre, 16; Hana St. Juliana, 14; Madisyn Baldwin, 17; and Justin Shilling, 17 – and injuring a teacher and six other students in a high school shooting in Oxford, Mich. on Tuesday.

He was arrested at the scene and charged as an adult on 24 counts, including one of terrorism and four counts of first degree murder.

The motive for the attack is still unclear.

The teenager’s parents, James and Jennifer Crumbley, are also behind bars on Friday after being charged with four counts of manslaughter.

The couple sparked a huge manhunt after they failed to show up for arraignment on Friday, before authorities found them hiding in an art studio in Detroit near the Canadian border early on Saturday morning and put them in detention.

Lawyers for the Crumbleys said they were not on the run and planned to surrender, citing “a matter of logistics”.

Sheriff Bouchard questioned these allegations, given the circumstances in which they were discovered.

“Were they actually going to do it [hand themselves in]? I don’t know, ”he said on Saturday.

“But considering they were hiding in a warehouse in Detroit, that certainly raises eyebrows. “

He added that one of the suspects was seen by a witness smoking outside and that he “largely fled”.

“Where they were and how they were seems to support the position that they were hiding and not looking to surrender at the time,” he said.

The sheriff also suggested that the couple’s actions reinforced their accountability in the shooting.

“If there was no guilt, why would you be in a warehouse in Detroit?” ” He asked.

He did not rule out the possibility that additional charges could be brought against the parents in connection with their alleged attempts to evade justice.

The sheriff said charges could also be laid against the individual who allegedly helped the couple hide inside the warehouse.

The unnamed individual could face charges of complicity or obstruction of justice, he said.

“We think they were helped in this place to get there, to get in and we are collecting this information and we will have all of that done pretty soon and present it to our prosecutor for potential charges of aiding or abetting. obstruction of justice, ”he said.

The sheriff said all charges would be determined by Oakland County District Attorney Karen McDonald “at some point in the near future.”

Authorities are asking anyone with information about Tuesday’s shooting and the parents’ actions to come forward.

All three are currently being held separately and “in isolation” in the same prison and are not allowed to come into contact with each other, he said.
