Dana White reveals he tested positive for COVID-19, followed Joe Rogan’s advice on treatment – .

UFC President Dana White could be out of UFC Vegas 44 this weekend after testing positive for COVID-19.

According to White, he and his family contracted the life-threatening illness after traveling during the Thanksgiving vacation.

“We went to my house in Maine for Thanksgiving; it’s the tradition that we go up there every Thanksgiving, ”White explained Wednesday on Jim Rome’s podcast. “Someone up there had it, and we come back and we’ve all tested positive for COVID. Literally the whole family and my family in Maine too.

“We returned on Saturday. Sunday – I cold and steam dive every day – I come out of the cold dive and I go in the steamer, and I spray the eucalyptus and I couldn’t smell a thing. So I open the bottle, start to sniff the eucalyptus bottle, and I’m like yeah, I don’t have a smell. So you know what that means. I literally got out of breath, picked up my phone, and called Joe Rogan.

In recent months, Rogan has become a controversial figure when it comes to the COVID-19 pandemic after testing positive, and then detailed the cocktail of drugs he took to seek treatment.

Among them was ivermectin, a drug originally developed as a dewormer for horses before being adapted for use in humans to treat similar ailments caused by parasites such as worms or head lice. . Although he said he was prescribed the drug, the Food and Drug Administration said it had not “licensed or approved ivermectin” as an actual treatment for COVID-19.

Just a few weeks ago, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers revealed he was not vaccinated against COVID-19. But after he tested positive, he asked Rogan for advice on potential treatments.

Now it looks like White has done the same.

« [Joe] says as soon as you get up in the morning, get tested, ”White said of his conversation with Rogan. “So I get up at 9 am on Monday morning, I get tested, I test positive. He said get monoclonal antibodies in you ASAP. So I did. By noon I had the monoclonal antibodies in me, then he told me to do an infusion of NAD. I did it.

“I get up on Tuesday, I get ready to shave, to clean my razor, I could smell the alcohol. My taste and smell was back the next day at 11am. Then I took a dose of Ivermectin yesterday, then I did an infusion of vitamins, then today I did another infusion of NAD. I couldn’t feel any better. Feel like a million dollars. I do two workouts a day for the next 10 days while I have COVID, I am in quarantine. I recovered my smell and taste in less than 24 hours.

While the UFC president has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and has apparently shown no symptoms other than loss of taste and smell, he has always trusted Rogan to offer him the best possible advice. for the treatment.

“Look, I’m vaccinated,” White said. “It’s not like I’m a crazy anti-vax conspiracy theorist or anything like that, but Rogan is a very bright guy. A very smart guy who talks to the best and the brightest and I don’t believe in storytelling. But at the end of the day, it’s a free country. Because what happens when you get that stuff they tell you to stay home for the next 10 days until you don’t test positive. It doesn’t sound smart to me. Just like when we went through COVID, I believe in finding solutions to problems and answers.

“Rogan has worked with over 30 or 40 people who have done this and he swears by it, and he’s a good friend of mine that I’ve known for over 20 years. So yes, I believe in what he says. I think the way he explained to me how this thing worked made sense to me.

White is currently in quarantine with his family. He is recommended to remain in isolation for at least 10 days, but he plans to get tested as often as possible until he returns a negative result and hopes he can still attend UFC Vegas 44 Saturday night.

“I’m attacking this thing with the methods Rogan learned from very smart people,” White said. “I will continue to test every other day until I come back negative, then I will return to work as soon as possible. I hope [I’ll be at UFC Vegas 44].

“If my test is negative then absolutely positive I will be there. I’m going to do the exact protocol that’s supposed to be done to make sure I’m clean and can be around people again. As soon as it’s 100% clear, I’ll be back to work.
