The world of Batman is growing, and his the power of the stars increases. Few months ago, news broke that Warner Bros. was developing a show centered around the new iteration of The Penguin from the upcoming Film de Matt Reeves The batman. Colin Farrell plays the penguin in the film but, at the time, it was not known if the star would reprise the role of the series. Now we know that in the evening.

Variety announced the unsurprising but welcome casting news that will keep Bat’s spinoff continuity under control. Reportedly, the show will ‘delve into tPenguin’s rise to power in the Gotham underworld,”Although it does not specify whether this happens before or after Reeves’ film. We say this because we don’t know the whereabouts of Penguin, aka Oswald Cobblepot, during the movie. Is he already the Penguin? Has this full transition already taken place? The new trailer certainly shows that he comes face to face with Batman in the form of a fiery car chase, so you’re assuming he’s already a formidable villain—bbut where in particular, what happens in his journey in relation to the series has not yet been revealed.

Lauren LeFranc (Impulsion, Chuck, Agents du SHIELD) is now attached to write the script while The batman director Matt Reeves and producer Dylan Clark will be executive producers. This pair is also produce another series set in the world of their film which will focus on the Gotham City Police Department. So it’s pretty clear that Reeves’ movie isn’t just the first year in Caped Crusader’s career, but chapter one of a whole new bat universe for Warner Bros. and DC.

Farrell will debut his villainous character on March 4 when The batman released in theaters. He co-stars with Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone. Robert Pattinson, of course, is Batman.
