Chanel ridiculed over dull US $ 825 Advent calendar – .

TORONTO – Chanel faces a lot of criticism on social media for the content of her Advent calendar, many of which appear to be being made cheaply despite the item’s high price tag.

The Advent Calendar costs US $ 825 and contains 27 boxes of items numbered 5 through 31, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the company’s No. 5 fragrance. But outrage ensued when the contents of the boxes were revealed to include a dust bag, plastic wristband, paper flip book and several sets of stickers.

TikTok user Elise Harmon’s video series of herself opening the boxes has racked up more than 48 million views on the platform. Her impressions of the elaborate packaging were initially positive, but she was quickly disappointed when she opened box no. 9, which contained a pack of stickers.

“Okay, that must be a joke. It’s a joke! Stickers !? Stickers! ” she said.

Harmon’s initial video posted on Thursday has been viewed over 13.9 million times and it followed with five more videos of herself opening the boxes. Box no. 17 contained a bracelet, which Harmon likened to a “plastic bottle cap”, while boxes no. 18 and 13 had even more stickers.

“Alright, yes. I’m done. I can’t say these are temporary tattoos or stickers, but anyway, ”she said.

Her incredulous reactions continued as she opened box no. 21, which contained a small mirror, and box no. 12.

“Um… it’s just a clipboard,” Harmon said of the contents of box no. 12.

The Advent calendar also elicited ridicule from viewers of Harmon in the comments section of his videos.

“Basically they took all the random garbage they had that contained CHANEL and put it in an Advent calendar,” one user commented.

“At this point, let’s just open up? Why prolong the disappointment for every day? Said another TikToker.

Other commentators have said Harmon should demand a refund.

“I would ask for a refund if I were you. It’s literally worth $ 5, ”one user said.

Not all Advent Calendar products were complete disappointments for Harmon. Box # 7 contained a travel-size bottle of hand cream, while 11 and 20 contained lipsticks.

“I opened number 7 and it didn’t disappoint because I’m obsessed with their hand cream,” Harmon said.
