America’s Got Talent Contestant Jay Jay Phillips Dies of COVID-19 – .


“America’s Got Talent” competitor Jay Jay Phillips is believed to have died of COVID-19. He was 30 years old.

Phillips’ family told TMZ he was suffering from the coronavirus at home during Thanksgiving week.

The outlet reported that his family and friends contacted him by phone, but his health took a turn for the worse just a day before the holidays, according to TMZ.

His family reportedly told Phillips, a native of Cleveland, to check in at a hospital; However, Phillips told them he just needed to sleep.

Phillips’ girlfriend and mother saw him on Thanksgiving and found him dead at his home.

Phillips was not vaccinated, according to TMZ, but he had told friends and family just before he fell ill that he was planning to get the vaccine. At the time of his death, Phillips was living with his father, who is currently in the hospital and on a ventilator.

The rocker first appeared in Season 4 of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” and was knocked out early in the competition. He then returned in Season 12 but was cut before the quarter-finals.

Phillips was known in the reality TV series for his signature look: wild, curly hair, wacky animal-print clothes, and a large keyboard hanging from his body.


Another candidate who was on the talent show also died last month. Singer Thomas Wells died in a horrific accident at a tire factory on November 13.

Thomas’s wife, Jessica Wells, told TMZ the 46-year-old was working at a manufacturing plant in Oklahoma when he got caught on an automatic treadmill.

“Thomas had an incredible voice and loved to sing hymns as well as contemporary music,” one obituary read. “He always had a smile on his face and liked to joke around and give people a hard time. He was a great artist and always became the center of attention.
