The Saints’ inactive list confirmed fears among fans of the team after reading reports earlier today. New Orleans won’t have three of their best offensive players.
Running back Alvin Kamara will miss his fourth game in a row with a knee injury. He was a limited participant in the practice all week, and the Saints classified him as doubtful.
In eight games this season, Kamara has totaled 178 touches for 840 yards and seven touchdowns.
His absence leaves Mark Ingram and Ty Montgomery to carry the running game, along with quarterback Taysom Hill. Hill will make his first start of the season as a quarterback, becoming the third player to hold the Saints position this season. He only played 30 quarterback snaps in 2021.
The Saints will not have any of their starting tackles as Ryan Ramczyk (knee) and Terron Armstead (knee / shoulder) are inactive.
The other inactive on the team are quarterback Ian Book, running back Tony Jones Jr., linebacker Kaden Elliss (hamstrings) and defensive end Marcus Davenport (shoulder).
Inactive for the Cowboys are receiver Cedrick Wilson (ankle), quarterback Will Grier and defensive end Azur Kamara. Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence and wide receiver Amari Cooper are back for tonight’s game.
Lawrence has not played since the start of the season after fracturing the fifth metatarsal in his left foot during the team’s practice on September 15. He missed 10 games.
Cooper missed two games while on the COVID-19 reserve list.
