The French team finishes the 2nd stage in good shape as Sailing Arabia – Le Tour 2021 continues • Live Sail Die – .

This year’s second stage of Sailing Arabia – The Tour ended with the French team still in the lead as the gap with DB Schenker in second position fell to four points. Team Oman Sail remains third, Team Oman Investment Authority fourth, Barceló Mussanah Resort fifth and Nastro Rosa from Italy sixth.

The race featured a longer coastal raid along the shore, which the France team won ahead of DB Schenker and Nastro Rosa, and then two short stadium races. The France team and Oman Sail traded victories, each taking victory in one and relegating the other team to second place. In addition to a one-point gap at the top, Oman Sail opened up a three-point advantage over fourth place as the fleet began to split.

Ali Al Balushi, No. 1 of the Barceló Mussanah Resort team, said: “Today was a great day of sailing, very difficult with ups and downs for our team, but we came back to the coastal raid. by finishing fourth. Then we had two coastal races, finishing fourth and sixth, last, which was a bit frustrating. There are still two steps left, and we will try to improve as a team, to make good decisions and we are confident that the results will come eventually.

Solune Robert, coxswain of the France team, said: “Today we had three races, and all three went very well for our team. There was a close battle and some contact with the other boats which was a very pleasant feeling, a reminder that the competition is fierce. There are very strong teams this year. We finished first and second in the in-port races and are very happy with our performance. Sur is a very nice place to sail, the winds change a lot of direction and strength here which is a challenge but we are very happy to be here to run.

The races continued in Sur with a new coastal raid and two more races in port. There were plenty of points up for grabs as the teams continue to fight for position. From Sur, the fleet will travel north to Marina Bandar Al Rowdha for a series of coastal raids and port races on December 1 and 2, then to Muscat for the final leg from December 3 to 5, 2021, date to which medals will be awarded. .
