Tributes were paid to a “beautiful” and “kind” mother whose body was “found thrown in a suitcase four days after her wedding day”.
The woman, locally named Dawn Walker, was found dead on Sunday in the Aysgarth Avenue neighborhood in Lightcliffe, near Brighouse, YorkshireLive reports.

Police received a call from a stranger on Sunday afternoon who reported what had happened and a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murdering her.

He remains in custody and the police are not actively looking for other suspects in connection with Dawn’s death.

Devastated friends said Dawn didn’t get married until Wednesday and have a son. They are among those who pay homage to Dawn.

A close friend told YorkshireLive that Dawn is a kind, caring and friendly woman as well as a mother of a baby boy.

The friend, who asked not to be named, said Dawn’s body was discovered hidden in a suitcase in a grassy area near Aysgarth Avenue and Nunlea Royd, which has since been cordoned off by police. .

“She got married on Wednesday and died on Sunday morning,” the friend added.

“Dawn was a healthy woman. She got married on Wednesday and now it’s happened.

“She was found in a suitcase in the back of some trees. She lived on (nearby) Shirley Grove. “

The friend described Dawn as a kind and friendly woman who had helped those in need.

“She was the healthiest person you could meet,” she said. “She was friendly and generous. She once paid for a disabled man’s groceries when he was little. “

Family and friends shared their grief over Dawn’s death on Facebook, with people calling her a “beautiful” and “kind” person.

One woman described Dawn as a “loving soul”.

Nunlea Royd’s neighbors were devastated by the news.

An elderly woman said: “I am stunned – there is no other word for it. It is devastating. I have lived here for 40 years and what has happened is just terrible.

West Yorkshire Police homicide detectives continue to investigate the murder.

They are especially eager to speak with an unknown person who called them to report what had happened. This person did not identify himself to the police.

The officers were first called at 4:38 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

But officers now want to know more about the hours leading up to that and have called in anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area between 1 p.m. and 4:38 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
