“The plant will be the first Tesla Canada branded manufacturing facility in Canada and will produce advanced manufacturing equipment that will be used in Gigafactories located around the world for battery production. “
Tesla recently shared a video of its research and development (R&D) manufacturing teams in Canada, and Drive Tesla Canada noted that a load crew and manufacturing teams are also part of Tesla’s large presence in Canada. The article highlighted how important Tesla’s Canadian connection is and its goal of recruiting more employees. Tesla has posted the video below to showcase the different teams across Canada.
In Tesla’s third-quarter earnings call for 2021, the very first question was about the delivery date of the first 4,680-cell vehicles. Tesla chief technical officer Drew Baglino has said it will be in early 2022, which is fast approaching now. “From a non-cellular perspective, structural, battery, crash, range and reliability tests are nearing completion this quarter. “
Baglino also noted that this is a new type of battery architecture and there may still be some unknowns. Tesla’s main focus is quality when producing these battery cells.
