Marvel and MCU fans may recall that the release of tickets for Avengers: Endgame did quite a bit on movie ticket sites across the United States in 2019. Looks likedid the exact same thing on Sunday night, with fans online saying both and Fandango were down due to demand.
From Monday morning, the websites of, , , and everything seemed to be operational again.
The release of acould be partly to blame. Earlier Sunday, AMC announced that the first 86,000 “AMC Stubs A-List, Premiere, or Investor Connect members” who purchased or reserved tickets to a Spider-Man screening on December 16 would receive an “eco-friendly Spider-Man NFT” “. for their troubles. It’s hard to say if this impacted the downside of the AMC site, but it probably didn’t help. AMC and Fandango did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Beyond AMC, demand for Spider-Man: No Way Home tickets seemed to affect almost all pre-order services, with reports indicating that sites like Drafthouse were struggling as well.
Also Monday, the producer of No Way Home, Amy Pascalthat Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are “getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie.”
