17-year-old girl who went missing while jogging France reappeared more than a day after her disappearance, claiming that she had been kidnapped.
The teenager, who has not been named, left her home in Saint-Brice for a forest run around 4 p.m. Monday local time.
She was reported missing hours later by her father after she failed to return home, the BBC reported.
His phone and GPS watch were found along his run, with traces of blood.
A search was launched, but the girl was not found until her next visit to a kebab in Sable-sur-Sarthe, around 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, allegedly in a state of shock.
French media reported that she said she was seized by several kidnappers.
Police had opened a kidnapping investigation before she reappeared.
A man was arrested Wednesday but released without charge.
Witnesses told French media that the girl had “a little blood on her” and that she escaped from a vehicle before taking refuge in the kebab.
Investigations are continuing.
