After a brief discussion, security was called and escorted the fans out of their seats. As they left, one of them made a face and a whimper in LeBron’s direction.
It’s not entirely clear what upset LeBron. There was no obvious incident like throwing an item or entering the pitch, so you have to guess that one of the fans said something. If you look at possession before LeBron speaks to the refs, he’s standing on this side of the pitch while guarding Domantas Sabonis and is only yards away from the fans who ended up getting thrown – circled here in red.
Again, we don’t know exactly what happened, but it certainly wouldn’t be the first case of fans saying something inappropriate.
Either way, it was an awesome LeBron night. After a one-game suspension for hitting Detroit Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart, and with Anthony Davis sidelined with illness, LeBron stepped up to deliver his best performance of the season.
He finished with a high of 39 points, five rebounds, six assists and two blocks. In addition, he made some big plays in the home stretch in regulation and overtime. He scored seven straight points in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter, as the Lakers came back from a 12-point deficit to force the OT. Then, in the extra frame, he dominated the Pacers on his own, 8-4.

The Lakers are now back to .500 at 10-10 thanks to the win over the Pacers. It’s obviously not where they want to be, but it’s worth noting that they’re 6-3 with LeBron in the lineup.
