Judas Priest announces rescheduled North American tour dates for ’50 Heavy Metal Years’ with Queensrÿche – .

JUDAS PRIEST announced the postponement “50 years of heavy metal” North American tour dates from March to April 2022. Support for the trek will come from QUEENSRŸCHE.

JUDAS PRIEST was forced to postpone about two dozen North American shows during his rescheduled 50th anniversary tour in late September after the band’s guitarist Richie Faulkner underwent an acute cardiac aortic dissection during a visualization at Stronger than life Festival. He ended up undergoing a life-saving 10-hour surgery a short distance away at the Rudd Heart and Lung Center at UofL Health – Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

QUEENSRŸCHE was originally designed to support SCORPION on their report “The nights of the city of sin” residency in Las Vegas in March-April 2022 but withdrew from the dates in order to participate in the JUDAS PRIEST to visit. SCORPION have since typed TROUBLESHOOTING ROW as the new first part of the Vegas residency.

Faulknerthe medical episode of occurred while he was performing the closing song of PRIESTis set on the last day of Stronger than life. Faulkner later said in a statement: “As I look at footage of the Stronger than life Festival in Kentucky, I can see on my face the confusion and angst I felt while playing ‘Pain killer’ as my aorta ruptured and started to shed blood in my chest cavity. “

Two weeks after his operation, Faulkner told reporters how he felt playing ” Pain killer “ with his comrades at Stronger than life: “I got a little dizzy. It has not disappeared. I have never passed out before. I never passed out, but I knew I felt like I was going to pass out in a minute.

“Fortunately, it was about halfway through the song,” he continued. “So obviously I had to finish the song. If I had known how important this was, maybe I would have left a little faster. But I think that’s the whole point for me. I had no idea what it was. “

Faulkner said he felt a sharp pain as he walked off the stage. “That’s when it exploded,” he said.

“The more I read about it, the more it is astonishing for me to think that I even arrived at the hospital,” he added. “The time that I really suffered and when I got to the hospital and when we were operated on, it was a long time. The more I read, the more incredible – that amount of time – I don’t know how I am still here today. “

Aortic aneurysms are “balloon-shaped bulges in the aorta, the large artery that carries blood from the heart through the chest and torso,” according to the United States. Disease Control Centers. Dissections occur when “the force of pumping blood can divide the layers of the arterial wall, allowing blood to flow between them.”
