Jim Harbaugh will give full bonuses to Michigan Wolverines Sports Department employees who have suffered a pay cut due to COVID-19 – .

Jim Harbaugh will donate any bonuses earned on his contract this season to employees of the University of Michigan athletic department whose pay has been cut due to COVID-19 issues.
Harbaugh told the “Inside Michigan Football” radio show that he and his wife, Sarah, would return the money regardless of the amount to be distributed within the department.

The Michigan Sports Department implemented pay cuts of 5-10% for most of its employees in 2020 to help offset lost earnings due to the pandemic as well as a wage freeze.

The way Harbaugh’s contract is constructed, he has the potential to earn bonuses of up to $ 3.475 million. That includes $ 500,000 for winning the Big Ten East, which the Wolverines did on Saturday by beating rival Ohio State.

Harbaugh would raise $ 1 million if Michigan won Saturday’s Big Ten championship game against Iowa, and an additional $ 500,000 if he qualified for the college football playoff semifinals.

Any employee who has undergone a voluntary or mandatory pay cut in the past 18 months and is currently employed by the university will be able to receive part of the bonus money.
