Jamie Lynn Spears says her family forbade her from telling her sister Britney Spears when she got pregnant at the age of 16.
The former Nickelodeon star, 30, opened up about his family’s reaction to his pregnancy in the pages of his Things I Should Have Said memoir, revealing in a clip from People how his parents and team considered him to be. “Too risky” to tell Britney.
“I needed her more than ever and she couldn’t help me in my most vulnerable times,” Jamie Lynn writes in the book.

Spears said she was under pressure to terminate her pregnancy from all sides.
“Everyone had their own opinion of what was best for me,” she wrote, noting that her team’s opposition only made her more confident that she wanted to keep her child.
After refusing to have an abortion or give up her child for adoption, Spears found herself at odds with her father Jamie.
“Dad and I fought, throwing words and throwing insults. He grabbed me by the shoulders and held me tight, hoping to bend to his will, ”she recalls.
“I faced him and shouted, ‘NO! I will not go. I couldn’t deal with any of them. I ran away from them, panting with rage.
At the time, the family were already grappling with Britney’s metal health issues and they felt the star was too unstable to be trusted.

“The house looked like a prison without a smartphone or connection to the outside world,” she wrote.
“My team thought everyone outside the inner circle was a potential threat. They went so far as to hide my pregnancy from my sister, saying, “It’s too risky to tell Britney about the baby. ”
“I needed her more than ever and she couldn’t help me in my most vulnerable times,” she continued.
Jamie Lynn noticed that her sister’s behavior was becoming more and more erratic, writing: “Britney’s condition was becoming something more worrying. They feared her instability at this point would make her untrustworthy.
Having no other option, the young actress followed the instructions of her team.

“I followed what my team told me to do because I was a minor and I didn’t want to create any more problems,” she explained.
She would go on to reveal the news with a cover story for OK! magazine.
“Britney found out about the pregnancy when the article was published. To this day, the pain of not being able to tell my sister myself persists.
Spears would be welcoming his daughter Maddie Briann Aldridge on June 19, 2008 in McComb, Mississippi.
She was engaged to Maddie’s father, Casey Aldridge in 2008, but the couple ended their engagement in March 2009, only to reunite the following year before going their separate ways in November 2010.
Jamie Lynn is now married to Jamie Watson, with whom she shares her three-year-old daughter, Ivey Joan Watson.
