Israel studies Pfizer drug, votes on children’s vaccine package – .

Israel is examining data regarding the new coronavirus drug developed by Pfizer and the issue of securing its supply, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said at the opening of the cabinet meeting on Sunday, as did the health ministry announced that a decision on vaccination approval for children ages 5-11 will be made on Wednesday.

On Friday, Pfizer – which also manufactures the vaccine used in Israel – announced that its antiviral pill Paxlovid reduced the risk of hospitalization or death by 89% for adults at risk of serious illness in their clinical trial.

The company added that it plans to submit the data to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration by November 25.
