One of the things that does Hawkeye from the Marvel Cinematic Universe so unique is that it is not unique. He’s just an ordinary person like you and me. He doesn’t have a great costume or is not from outer space. Hawkeye is a human who happens to be very good with a bow and arrows. And this regular-same guy extends to his costume, which is simple, skinny, and mean.

in wonder movie theater, as well as the next Hawk Eye show on disney +, Hawkeye’s costume is usually black, sometimes with a bit of purple, sprinkled with a few suspenders and clips here and there. It’s very functional and nothing fancy, other than its super high-tech quiver. It’s a stark contrast (no pun intended) to the character’s outfits originally introduced with in Marvel Comics. It was bright, loud and shameless that this dude had the word “Falcon” in his name.

This brings us to this new clip from the upcoming Marvel Studios Disney + show Hawk Eye, in which Hawkeye (Clint Barton) and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) discuss the pros and cons of being a superhero—umbrellaone of which is the costume, that Kate has slightly redesigned.

Here’s a fun clip with the kind of meta joke you’d expect from a Marvel Studios production. But here’s a treat you don’t see in this brief footage. None of the images it contains are from the first two episodes of the series which will be released on November 24. There are pictures from 2012 The Avengers in there, but none of the first two Hawk Eye episodes, which spend a little more time setting up the characters, story and mentor-mentee relationship between Kate and Clint that will inform this witty and playful dialogue later.

Hawk Eye launches its first two episodes on Disney + on November 24. Check back next week for interviews with executive producer Trinh Tran as well as our recap.
