Darren Fletcher speaking to data analysts rather than Ralf Rangnick during Chelsea game – Man United News And Transfer News – .

Michael Carrick has denied that Ralf Rangnick influenced his decision-making in the Premier League game against Chelsea.

The interim manager recently took part in his Premier League debut in a crucial clash against the current league leaders.

His side managed to score a point in a crucial game following United’s drop in form.

However, this match was accompanied by a tactical change from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s usual offensive formation in 4-2-3-1.

The team themselves were very defensive, with three defensive midfielders in operation. In front of the midfielder was Fernandes, operating like a false nine, with Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford on either side of him.

The team as a unit was pressing and the exclusion of Cristiano Ronaldo from the starting XI confirmed that there would be a tactical change.

Many fans believed Ralf Rangnick was a major influence on the roster and tactics because it was a pressing side.

However, as reported here earlier today, the German was actually not behind the squad selection or the strategy employed.

The side that faced Chelsea relied on counterattacks, which proved influential as Jadon Sancho scored his first Premier League goal of the season.

Fans also spotted an earpiece Darren Fletcher used to communicate and many believed he was on the phone with the incoming manager.

But according to the BBC, that was not the case as Carrick himself said in post-match interviews.

Sources informed the outlet that Fletcher was in fact speaking to data analysts who were in the back of the stands.

It’s something you typically see in football, but it’s been a while since a headset was spotted at Old Trafford.

It wasn’t Rangnick at the end, but it was nice to see a refreshed United side with different training and tactics that saw the Red Devils score their first point of the month in the league.

United fans will look forward to a new squad in the coming months under the leadership of the new interim manager and there may even hopefully be some new players in the upcoming January transfer window.
