The number of COVID cases the UK has experienced since the start of the pandemic has exceeded 10 million, according to official figures.

According to government data, the number of people who tested positive in the latest round of daily figures is 47,240.

This brings the total number of coronavirus infections to 10,021,497.

The data also showed that 147 other people have died with COVID-19.

Data also showed that cases reported between November 19 and November 25 were up 9.5% from the previous seven days.

Changes in the number of deaths are usually less than those in cases.
