The name of Juventus scares many teams, but not Chelsea, who tore their opponents apart to win 4-0 at Stamford Bridge in a sublime second half.
The Premier League leaders are now at the top of their Champions League group and have put in a breathtaking performance on their way to a nine-game unbeaten streak.
Tuchel did so with plenty of injury-related distractions as well, losing signing Romelu Lukaku’s record, as well as key man Mason Mount for long stretches.
Still, the results keep coming, with former Blues defenseman and talkSPORT host Jason Cundy blown away last week.
“Against Leicester and tonight I see a different machine,” he told Sports Bar.
“We’re an absolute machine right now, and I would say we’re probably the best team in the world.
“We’re up there, it’s tactically one of the best teams in Chelsea, actually the best I’ve ever seen.
“Tuchel is only doing things right, and today was without [Kai] Havertz, sans Mount, sans Lukaku.
“We’re leading the group and we did it in style, we didn’t just cross the line, we beat them today. beat them.
The European champions appear on track to compete for top honors again in Tuchel’s first full season.
The win against Juventus was one of their best of the campaign, with superb goals from Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
And James, Chelsea’s top scorer with five goals, received special praise from Cundy.
“Reece is the best right-back in the country right now,” he added.
“He has no weakness, physically, he’s probably the best player on the pitch. “
As mentioned, Chelsea have had to deal with injuries throughout the season, and they may have picked up a few more crucial ones ahead of a league encounter with Manchester United.
N’Golo Kante and Ben Chilwell both left the pitch in pain, with Tuchel later saying the pair suffered similar blows.
” The [Chilwell] has severe knee pain and unfortunately N’Golo too, ”Tuchel revealed. “He also looked like he had twisted his knee.
“I can tell you tomorrow morning when they will both be examined.”
“Those are the only two things that are very sad because N’Golo has been fantastic until this moment he’s gone and Chilly is having a fantastic time.
“He’s so important and so strong, so let’s hope for the best. “
But even though they are ready for long absences, Chelsea have shown they have the capacity to deal with it.
