The Monday morning broadcast was disrupted by an alarm that could be heard saying, “Please leave the building immediately by the nearest exit. “
One of the presenters told worried listeners, “You might be able to hear that we have a little alarm going on here,” as the studio was evacuated.
The popular morning show returned to air about 20 minutes later, as Nick Robinson tried to explain what had happened and claimed it was a false alarm.
“Despite this rumor that there was an emergency, as far as we can tell, there was none,” he said.
Nick then shared a photo of himself and his co-host Martha Kearney as they waited patiently outside the studio in freezing weather after the evacuation.
“Emergency over. If there was one… we are now back in the studio, ”he told his relieved subscribers.
