Amir Khan insists Kell Brook is ‘bitter’ about his success: ‘I capitalized on what I did in boxing – he hates it’


Amir Khan accused Kell Brook of being “bitter” and of having “hatred” for his professional success.

Longtime rivals Khan and Brook will finally settle their animosity on February 19 in Manchester, live on Sky Sports Box Office, in the biggest all-British fight outside the heavyweight division.

They hit their heads, were separated by security and argued furiously at a press conference on Monday.

Khan insists their rivalry is because of, “What I did in sports. The name I have. You can see how bitter it is.

“My celebrity status? It comes from what I have accomplished in the sport of boxing. It’s not because of other things.

“I had great performances, won world titles, made a name for myself in America. It all comes from boxing.

“How can you hate that?”

Amir Khan accused Kell Brook of looking “well overweight”

Brook and Khan are both former world champions and remain Britain’s top two welterweights.

Khan insists he has always functioned at a higher level than Brook: “It’s a step forward for me. Getting into this fight goes down a few levels.

“There are bigger names, tougher fights.

“But I had to give that to the British fans.

“So I had to withdraw to beat him and show the British public who is the best. “

Kell Brook says he’s going to go to hell training before long-awaited

Brook said, “It’s personal. It is not made up. We don’t love each other.

“I have the grudge match of my career.

“I haven’t lost anything. I may be 35 years old. But Terence Crawford is 34, just like Shawn Porter, and they’ve just had an epic fight. Crawford is one of the best pound for pound.
