Adam Peaty of Strictly Come Dancing spoke out against his critics after his release on Sunday, calling on them to “do better.”

Adam has become the sixth celebrity to leave the show, and after previously saying he “doesn’t really care” about critical comments, he’s now called on people to “challenge themselves.”

In week four of this year’s series on BBC One, Adam and his professional dance partner Katya Jones performed a scorching Argentine tango at Fleetwood Mac’s Tango in the Night, ending their performance with what some viewers perceived as an “almost kiss”.

Adam spoke out on speculation at the time, by insisting on the “real consequences” which could result from it, while his girlfriend Eiri Munro shared a hilarious reaction on social media, pretending to cry in a video captioned: “Watching boyfriend almost kissing another woman on live TV.” “

Now, after the Olympian was eliminated following a one-on-one dance against Tilly Ramsay, he has messaged viewers, criticizing his critics.

Posting photos of him with his dance partner Katya Jones, he wrote: “What an experience @bbcstrictly has been.

“I’m so grateful for the time I spent on this show, peaking performance in front of millions and the extreme challenge of learning a new routine within 3 days every week, it’s been amazing. “

He continued, “I didn’t know how much this meant to me until I got a little emotional after my dance; However, I don’t think it was the dancing that pushed me to the limit, but the two years of constant challenge with myself combined with the energy of winning the Olympics and becoming a father at the same time. My emotions are one of my strongest attributes and I am not ashamed to show that I am human.

“It’s crazy to me because I thought I was fine, but I’m not. We all have to wear a piece of armor to get the job done and it wasn’t until this week that I knew I could let go. I am always healing from the trials and tribulations that elite sports athletes go through, but with this I also adapt and learn from life.

‘Thank you Katya for being there everyday, you are amazing. I don’t have enough positive words for you and what an amazing person and dancer you are. Thanks to everyone behind the scenes, you guys are awesome. I am very grateful to everyone who made this experience so amazing. @tillyramsay you were amazing and i’m so glad you can show how amazing dancer you are next week! ‘

“For the people who tried to take us down throughout the show, please challenge yourself to be better. The world needs a lot more positivity and truth, ”he added.

Olympic swimmer and partner Katya Jones performed a Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers Jive to Little Bitty Pretty One once again on Sunday after ending up in the final two, but sadly it wasn’t enough to make them spend next week.

Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke all chose to save Tilly from coming home, following her and Nikita Kuzmin’s Tango to Kings & Queens by Ava Max.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6:40 p.m. on BBC One.
