Morton’s “Alt Tour” may have been in more news than the 2021 Tour de France itself. And you can participate to win the bike he did it on.
On July 13, Lachlan Morton cut the tape under the Arc de Triomphe 5 days before of the Tour de France peloton – well, not exactly.
It was the day the Australian cyclist finished his ” Visit Alt“, A breathtaking unsupported (unauthorized) race from the TdF route. Along his 3,400 mile bike ride, he camped every night and carried all his food and supplies. The ride raised over $ 680,000 for a bike-friendly charity Global bicycle rescue.
Morton rode a Cannondale SuperSix EVO, carefully built and tuned to its specifications. Now, World Bicycle Relief is offering it as part of a raffle. Cannondale, Rapha, and EF Education-NIPPO (Morton’s team) help present the road bike, a 54cm construction with a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 drivetrain, Team Vision wheels and a Cannondale HollowGram crankset.
In addition to the bike, the big winner also receives an EF Education-NIPPO jersey signed by Morton. Four other winners also receive a hand-signed jersey but miss the bike.
The entry period started October 10 and ends October 31 (closing at 7 p.m. CST). Admission is $ 34, and all money will help support the work of World Bicycle Relief.
“On behalf of everyone at World Bicycle Relief and the people we serve, our gratitude goes to Lachlan, his team and family, EF Education First, Rapha and everyone who contributed to this incredible activation,” said Allison Dufosee, CEO of World Bicycle Relief UK “Cope everyone! “
