Mohamed Salah of Liverpool is in London this evening for the inaugural Earthshot Award ceremony at Alexandra Palace.
The Earthshot Prize is a prestigious global environmental award which was launched by Prince William and Sir David Attenborough last year.

A number of celebrities are in attendance and the event will be hosted by Clara Amfo and Dermot O’Leary.

Performers include Ed Sheeran, KSI and Coldplay and the five winners will be announced by a panel of presenters including Salah.

Categories include Protecting and Restoring Nature, Reviving Our Oceans, Purifying Our Air, Building a Waste-Free World, and Repairing Our Climate.

Each winner will receive a £ 1million prize as well as support to strengthen their impact and groundbreaking work.

Salah was chosen alongside a number of celebrities to present an award, alongside the Duchess of Cambridge, Emma Thompson, Emma Watson and David Oyelowo.

The 29-year-old was on the scoresheet again in yesterday’s 5-0 loss to Watford at Vicarage Road.
