Warner Bros Exec’s latest statement on Denis Villeneuve sequel is confusing, but optimistic – .

that of Denis Villeneuve Dune Finally arrives in theaters and on HBO Max in the US today, but unlike David Lynch’s Dune 1984 film, this version only adapts the first half of Frank Herbert’s original novel rather than the entire tome. So naturally a sequel would tell the second half, but there hasn’t been an official announcement yet about Dune 2 event. That said, a cryptic statement from WarnerMedia Studios and Networks President and CEO Ann Sarnoff may indicate that there is additional hope for the sequel to come to life.

Last August, Denis Villeneuve said he was “optimistic” about Dune 2 is happening, claiming that Warner Bros. and Legendary were “100 percent late” Dune and reportedly felt that the film “would need a very bad box office result” for a sequel not to be made. But it’s not the same as getting an official green light, but here’s what Ann Sarnoff said when Deadline asked if Dune 2 has passed:

Will we have a sequel to Dune? If you watch the movie, you see how it ends. I think you pretty much know the answer to that.
