Joining the Channel 4 and Cancer Research fundraising campaign, Tom revealed he was on his own when diagnosed with the coronavirus pandemic.

He went on to describe how he spent days unable to get out of bed because he thought he was going to die.

He said: “There was no one else. I just remember looking at one of the guys on duty, and he was struggling with something.

“They put a curtain around me and said ‘You have a brain tumor.’

“I said you must have made a mistake, I’m too young.” “

He also revealed that he struggled in the early days of his diagnosis.

“You just have to have a positive mindset,” Tom told Davina.

“I think cancer can consume you… There was a time at the start of this journey when I just couldn’t get out of bed.

“It was the mind not the physical… I was thinking what the point of getting out of bed is, I’m going to die. “

When asked what gave her the strength to carry on, the star replied, “I had to do this, I have kids. “
