LeBron James was one of the more than 111 million viewers who helped Squid Game become the “greatest series ever released by Netflix”.

But the 36-year-old NBA star recently revealed at a press conference with Lakers teammate Anthony Davis that he “doesn’t like” the end of the dystopian drama.

And now, Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk is fighting back LeBron’s public disparagement, even going as far as the rubbing salt in the wound that is the sequel to LeBron’s poorly reviewed Space Jam.

Strike back: Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-Hyuk hit back at LeBron James after the NBA star recently slammed the Netflix series’ ending

When first asked about The Guardian’s comments about the shooter on Squid Game, Dong-hyuk laughed at the reporter before quickly joking, “Have you seen Space Jam 2? ”

Space Jam 2 was a highly anticipated sequel to the beloved 1996 animated / live-action film Space Jam, which starred Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes gang.

Sadly, Space Jam 2 left a lot to be desired when it hit theaters on July 16. The film currently holds a 26% score on Rotten Tomatoes and has been criticized by NPR for having a “convoluted” plot.

While he may disagree with her point of view, the 50-year-old screenwriter didn’t let that cloud his respect for James.

“But I wouldn’t change my ending. This is my end, ”he stressed.

Hwang, further emphasizing his signature sarcastic humor, joked that if LeBron “has his own ending that will satisfy him” he should get down to business.

“Maybe he could make his own sequel. I’ll check it out and maybe send him a message saying, “I liked your whole show except the end. ”
