Hhello and welcome to Telegraph Sport’s live coverage of today’s England squad announcement for the upcoming autumn internationals.
Eddie Jones is expected to unveil a new squad for upcoming games against Tonga, Australia and South Africa, with Harlequins duo Alex Dombrandt and Marcus Smith expected to be included. Whether that means the end for Billy Vunipola and George Ford remains to be seen, but today could mark a serious guard change in Jones’ tenure as head coach.

Who are the other potentially unexpected contenders? Full-back Freddie Steward will surely be included due to his exceptional form for Leicester, while Sale’s scrum half Raffi Quirke will knock on the door as well. Newcastle’s Callum Chick could also be a surprise last row inclusion; he impressed this summer with England and picked up where he left off with his club this season.

Meanwhile, Saracens boss Mark McCall said he would be “astonished” if a trio of his star players were ignored today for the second time this season.

Jamie George, Mako Vunipola and Billy Vunipola were left out of Jones’ training squad last month, but all were instrumental in getting the Saracens to Bath – 17-71 – yesterday.

Hooker George scored two of the Saracens’ 10 tries, while the Vunipola brothers were also instrumental in a ruthless dismantling of the western country club.

Their England colleague Maro Itoje, meanwhile, was on the scoresheet as he made his first Premiership start since October last year, although he left early in the second half after having received a blow to the shoulder as Jones watched from the stands at Recreation Ground.

On Itoje, McCall said, “I don’t know if Maro is a shoulder or a pec. We’re just trying to find out how bad it is. “

Bath England winger Anthony Watson also came out early and Bath rugby manager Stuart Hooper said: “It’s definitely his knee, but I don’t think it’s too bad. I think he’s fine. ”
