The opening night for the 2021-22 season has arrived, with a marquee match to get things going.

Following their classic second-round playoff that went the distance, the Milwaukee Bucks will host the Brooklyn Nets at the Fiserv Forum. Championship-winning Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday and the Bucks will collect their rings before the game, while Kevin Durant and James Harden prepare to begin their quest for the 2022 title.

Finale – Bucks 127, Filets 104

-A big night in Milwaukee ends with a win. The defending champions get their rings back, unveil the championship banner and knock their biggest rival out of the conference. A successful evening indeed.

-Antetokounmpo leaves the game. He finishes with 32 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists. What a start for the MVP of the final.

-Durant buries a triple at long distance and it’s 115-101 with 3:45 on the clock. Giannis was absent for the last few minutes. You’d think he’ll be back to help close this game for Milwaukee.

– Milwaukee’s calling time and this one feels like a few possessions far from possibly a wrapper. Antetokounmpo has 32 points, 13 rebounds and six assists as the lead goes to 112-95 with 5:50 to go.

-Nwora continues her beautiful evening off the bench by putting out a triple canning. The sophomore has 13 points and five rebounds on a 3v6 shot from deep. The Bucks continue to answer every call and still lead 106-93 with 8:08 am left.

-Patty Mills is sizzling right now. He’s up to 7 for 7 at long distance as the Nets try to stay in the game. Milwaukee leads 101-90 with 9:00 a.m. to go.

End of third – Bucks 97, Nets 85

-Jordan Nwora hits Claxton and justtttt beats the buzzer with the float. Milwaukee continues to keep the Nets at bay.

-Antetokounmpo has 25 points and 12 rebounds, Durant has 25 points and eight rebounds.

-Kevin Durant is starting to heat up for Brooklyn. He has 24 points but it’s still Milwaukee who has the 88-77 advantage with 2:43 left in the third.

-With Jrue Holiday out for the night, the Bucks insert a two-way guard, Justin Robinson. Also missing in Milwaukee Rodney Hood, Bobby Portis, Semi Ojeleye and Donte DiVincenzo.

-Giannis kisses him from the glass with his left hand with a touch of English. Ridiculous.

-Giannis is preparing some sort of game. He has 24 points, 12 rebounds and five assists halfway through the third quarter.

-The Bucks lead 81-70 with 6:50 to go. The nets stick close enough to make a run.

-Bucks score first as Giannis finds Allen for a triple. Bucks 69, nets 59.

-We are underway in the second half.

Mi-temps – Bucks 66, Nets 59

-Bad news for the Bucks, with Jrue Holiday ruled out with a bruised heel. The goalie appeared to be in pain on a move to the basket earlier in the second quarter.

-Milwaukee leads 61-48 with 3:13 remaining until halftime.

-Patty Mills keeps shooting for Brooklyn. He has 15 points on a 5v5 long-range shot. Harden also has 15 for Brooklyn.

– On several occasions the Brooklyn players failed to come back on defense, leaving their teammates to play 4v5. It was first Claxton and now Harden. The Bucks lead 55-37 with 5:40 left in the first half. Giannis leads all scorers with 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

-The Bucks continue to pay it long-haul in Q2. They lead 50-37 with 7:30 to play in the second quarter.

End of the first – Bucks 37, Nets 25

-Patty Mills catches fire so the Nets can keep them in touch after one. Mills has nine points on a 3v3 long-range shot.

-It’s all Milwaukee in the first quarter. The Bucks lead 31-15 with 3:13 left in the first quarter. Giannis already has 13 points, eight rebounds and that HUGE block on Claxton.

-Bucks start quickly. They lead 15-8 with 7:14 to go and Giannis at the free throw line.

-Milwaukee enjoys the offensive glass early in the game. They have four offensive rebounds and lead 10-6 with 8:29 left in the first quarter.

-The 2021-22 season is officially underway as the first shot of the season goes to Grayson Allen. A long-range misfire.
