San Francisco In-N-Out Temporarily Shuts Down For Vaccination Mandate Violation – .

An In-N-Out located in San Francisco has been temporarily closed because it would not meet the city’s mandate to check people’s coronavirus vaccine status.
The The San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) closed an In-N-Out on October 14 for violating a health ordinance that requires restaurants to check the vaccination status of customers who wish to eat inside.

“We refuse to become the immunization police for any government. It is unreasonable, invasive and dangerous to force our restaurant associates to separate customers into those who can be served and those who cannot, whether based on the literature they carry or some other reason. “In-N-Out Legal and Commercial Director Arnie Wensinger said in a statement.

“We strongly disagree with any government dictate that requires a private company to discriminate against customers who choose to patronize their business. This is clearly an excess of government scope and is intrusive, inappropriate and offensive, ”Wensinger added.

The story was first reported by KRON-TV.

Wensinger said the restaurant has posted the signs required by the city, but the city said it also needs to check a person’s immunization status and not just post the signs.

The health department said the In-N-Out site received several warnings before it was eventually forced to shut down.

The company has since reopened in accordance with the city’s sanitary order, offering only take-out and alfresco dining.

The The San Francisco Bay Area is starting to lift some of its indoor mask mandates due to the drop in coronavirus cases, but the vaccine mandate remains in place.

The city has some of the strictest vaccination mandates in the country with few places in the United States requiring restaurants to check a person’s immunization status.

The city of San Francisco has 83% of its vaccine-eligible residents fully vaccinated.
