Russell Wilson heads to IR and other Seahawks injury updates at Pete Carroll’s press conference on Friday – .

“He had a really good jump over the weekend and felt a lot better, but coming out of there, starting to get back to work, there isn’t enough progress being made,” said Carroll. “So it’s better for us to get it back and make sure we don’t rush it. And so we’re just going to take this time – it’s a tricky thing, he’s got something going on in his neck – so we’ve got to make sure we’re doing it really well. So we are going to take care of him, it seems like the right decision. The jump he did was in his relief and he felt a lot better and stuff, but not ready to play it. ”

Carroll said Carson could end up in the injured reserve as well, although that decision has yet to be made.

“Yeah, we’re looking at that,” Carroll said.

If Carson runs out of time beyond this week, the Seahawks should get Rashaad Penny back when he is eligible to return from the injured reserve next week.

“He’ll be good to go, unless he fails, and he’s really hungry to play and help us,” Carroll said.

Carroll also said rookie cornerback Tre Brown is expected to be back this weekend, but for that to happen a roster change will have to take place by Saturday to activate him from the injured reserve. Even without placing Wilson on the injured roster, the Seahawks have a place in the roster after relinquishing Tre Flowers earlier this week, so there is room for Brown on the roster.

“He’s had a really good, solid week,” Carroll said… “So he’s ready to play and can play in the game. ”
