Rio Ferdinand claims Jurgen Klopp Liverpool contract that could affect Newcastle – .

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand claims it is possible that Jurgen Klopp will leave Liverpool a year before his contract expires and this could potentially affect Newcastle.
The Magpies are currently looking for Steve Bruce’s successor and interim manager Graeme Jones has confirmed he will be in charge of their next Premier League game against Chelsea.

Newcastle’s hierarchy do not appear to have made a final decision on who they want as their next manager, with the club apparently in favor of a long-term date.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has been heavily linked with the post, but he indicated after his side’s 2-0 win over Brondy in the Europa League that he was happy at Ibrox.

The Liverpool legend excelled in Glasgow, ending Celtic’s domestic dominance by winning the title last season.

Rumor has it that Newcastle owners want to name a big name that could take the club in an exciting new direction, but Ferdinand believes the former Reds hero is keen to take over at Anfield.

Klopp and Gerrard are both out of contract in 2024, with the latter expected to take the reins of Liverpool when the time comes.

Ferdinand claims that if the Reds boss chooses to leave a year earlier, such an event could enter Gerrard’s thinking when it comes to working at Newcastle.

“Even Steven Gerrard, I also see his name mentioned next to the job,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.

“I can’t see someone like him going there because I just feel his eyes are on Liverpool.

“How long can Klopp stay at Liverpool?

“I mean, Klopp could be there for five more years, but you could easily see him one day, because of the character he seems to be, turn around in 18 months and say, ‘Look, it’s me.

“So I just see that Steven Gerrard will see Liverpool as his next stop rather than somewhere like Newcastle. “

The Reds boss said earlier this year that he plans to honor his contract with Liverpool, with no plans currently in place for a contract extension.

“I have three years left at Liverpool. It’s simple. You sign a contract and you stick to it, ”he said.

“I respected the contracts in Mainz and Dortmund. ”
